Visiting Martin Mere Wetland Centre

A small group of ladies and gents living at Stocks Hall Mawdesley boarded the Home’s minibus for a day out to Martin Mere Wetland Centre in nearby Burscough.

The WWT Martin Mere site has spectacular wetlands teeming with wildlife to explore, weird and wonderful birds from around the world.  There is plenty to see and do at Martin Mere all year round, with more than 100 types of rare and endangered water-birds to hand feed and a family of enchanting otters in residence.

The group spent the day enjoying the blissful, tranquil environment and taking in the picture perfect scenery.

Joanne, Activities Staff says “We all enjoyed a relaxing stroll throughout the centre then stopped off to hand feed the vast amount of wildlife, it was amazing to get so close to the animals.   The walk around, getting plenty of fresh air and looking at the birds is incredibly relaxing for our ladies and gentleman.  A fantastic day out together.”
