Mawdesley Walking Day
People living at Stocks Hall, Mawdesley, together with staff, family and friends were delighted to watch the annual Mawdesley Walking Day. Blessed with sunny weather and large numbers of people from various churches and organisations within the village, it seemed as though nearly everyone came to join the Community Parish Walk.
The parade passed through the picturesque village of Mawdesley, following a traditional route heading towards Bispham and was joined by Morris Dancers and local school children as well as Parish and community supporters, who all held their banners high to make a wonderful spectacle to behold.
Marching on, the procession headed towards Stocks Hall Mawdesley Care Home, who were “…very privileged to be asked to host the ‘turn around’ for this event.”
Stocks Hall Mawdesley welcomed the groups of locals, cheering them on and providing refreshments for all the thirsty walkers to enjoy in the grounds & gardens.
Red Admiral Music Academy were on-hand to provide musical entertainment, as everyone relaxed and enjoyed the sunshine whilst taking a breather. The Morris Dancers then took centre stage, as they performed with energy and enthusiasm, delighting the audience with their skills.
As the procession continued, the people living at Stocks Hall Mawdesley commented on how delighted they were to feel part of this charming community.
Thank you to the local people and village of Mawdesley for welcoming the Stocks Hall Group into this wonderful, traditional celebration.
