Mawdesley Carnival Walk

Recently a group from the Stocks Hall, Mawdesley Care Home went out and about, as they fundraised together with a Carnival Walk.

Braving the occasional shower (that’s the good old British Summertime for you!) whilst getting fresh air, the excursion will help towards the residents fund, and was enjoyed by all.  The group had previously made brightly coloured face masks, which drew quite a bit of attention as they trundled along through beautiful countryside lanes around the peaceful Lancashire village.

       

Meeting and chatting along the way with village residents, the group’s final destination was the Wheatsheaf Pub in Croston, where they enjoyed a welcome pub lunch and refreshments.

Jordan McCullough, Activities Lead at the Mawdesley Home, said “It was a very enjoyable day for us all, both the people who live at the Home as well as the staff and volunteers who helped out on the day.  It was especially nice to see the people from the Home socialising with not only each other, but with members of the local community too.” Tom Blackwell, who lives in one of the Mawdesley Home’s lovely, self-contained independent living apartments, said “It was such a lovely day being out in a beautiful village and having a laugh together too – the food wasn’t half bad either!”
