Walk on the Wild Side

Ladies and gentlemen living at Stocks Hall, Mawdesley Home enjoyed a recent day to Knowsley Safari Park.

Setting off in the beautiful July sunshine, the group eagerly anticipated their Safari Experience, for a wild day out.

Situated around Knowsley Hall on the ancestral estate of the Earl of Derby, the reserve is home to many different animals including elephants, giraffes, lions, bongos, tigers and baboons.   The tour of the 550 acre Safari Drive allows visitors to get acquainted with over 700 wild animals, all from the comfort (and safety) of the Stocks Hall Mawdesley minibus.

After enjoying lunch in the picture perfect surroundings of the park, the group found their way to the sea lion enclosure.  Here they watched an amazing show featuring the California Sea Lions, Roger and Arthur, who performed some clever tricks.

Jordan, Activities says “It was a superb day.  After an ice cream and a visit to the gift shop to purchase souvenirs and gifts, it was then back in the minibus for our return journey home. Not a quiet journey home, as we all had plenty to talk about, especially about the lions, the lions were our favourite animal.”
